GTD Adds Another Corvette - DXDT Racing Jumping Up To IMSA Ranks

Add another one to the grid! 

DXDT Racing announced on Tuesday that they are making the jump from GT World Challenge America to claim a spot on the IMSA GTD circuit in 2025, a move that will see another Corvette Z06 GT3.R join the party next season.

The team announced that they're prepared to undertake on the full calendar of races, with their Z06 GT3.R set to debut with the big boys in the Rolex 24 in January.  

They'll roll with the No. 36 as their number of choice.

DXDT join the already-confirmed AWA Racing as the other Corvette GTD team on the grid, which goes along with Pratt & Miller confirming that they're running back the No. 3 and No. 4 in GTD Pro, and as everyone knows, when it comes to fitting more Corvette Z06's anywhere you can on the track, the more the merrier. 

 

The news comes after DXDT wrapped up an amazing debut season in GTWCA with their Vette. They got started a bit later on when they missed the first four races of the campaign, yet beginning from their debut at COTA in May to just last week at the Indy 8 Hour, they put together a blistering run of seven wins out of eight tries and were in contention for the Pro championship going down to the wire. Alas, the trio of Alec Udell, Tommy Milner and Alexander Sims were undone by a third-place class finish and ultimately settled for second place in the standings behind Wright Motorsports.

Now that they'll be elevating their program to race in IMSA, you wonder how their driver lineup will shake out; if they can retain any one of those three guys for a full-season effort it gives them a chance to compete right off the bat. 

The team confirmations for 2025 are coming in hot and heavy, as earlier today we learned of the Heart of Racing's plans for next season, which is star-lighted by the GTP Valkyrie.

End of the Line for Forte Racing In GTD

Unfortunately the 2025 IMSA season has concluded, and as we now look towards the short off-season we can forecast which teams will be hitting the grid for 2026, and sadly which other teams will not. The initial entry list of confirmed teams dropped by IMSA before the season finale at Petit Le Mans was missing a handful of teams that were on the grid for 2025, and picking just one of those teams out of the bucket for now is Forte Racing.  The No. 78 had a difficult Petit Le Mans when they were caught up in the opening lap wreck that claimed the lives of four GTD machines right off the rip while making the lives difficult for others with sustained damage. Forte were one of those teams, and although they managed to continue on with the race the damage to the front of the car slowed down their pace and put them multiple laps down from the leaders, and it ultimately resulted in a retirement after 280 laps completed and seven-plus hours of racing.
