Tower Motorsports Fails Tech Inspec, United No. 2 Declared LMP2 Rolex Winner

You ALWAYS have to wait for the post-race technical inspection.

Posted just a bit earlier on their official website, IMSA revealed that the No. 8 Tower Motorsports LMP2 entry failed its post-race technical inspection, which moves them to the back of the field and thus raises the No. 22 United Autosport entry to first place.

The infraction comes in the form of the car "having exceeded the maximum allowable wear to the regulated area of the skid block on the underside of the car."

The report detailed that Tower filed a protest to IMSA which was denied.

It's a huge kick in the balls for a team that now has to give back their watches, prize money and erase all of the photos and video that they captured from Sunday. The foursome of John Farano, Sebastian Bourdais, Sebastian Alvarez and Job van Uitert are straight up not having a good time right now.

More to come...
