No. 83 AF Corse Secures Phil Hanson For 2025

Phil Hanson and AF Corse announced Wednesday morning that the 25-year-old Briton will be joining the team for the upcoming 2025 WEC campaign.

The move is significant because as Hertz Team Jota move away from the Porsche 963 to the Cadillacs, it's now known that Hanson will not be making the move along with them. Instead, Hanson becomes the first driver to be slotted in for the customer program, yet the early expectation is that Yifei Ye will remain with the car for a second season after a strong showing this year.

At the moment it is unknown if Hanson will remain with JDC-Miller Motorsport as the third man in for endurance rounds in IMSA, although you have to figure if he's departing the Porsche 963 in the WEC he'll likely be doing the same in North America.

With just the season finale in Bahrain to come this Saturday the No. 83 will be looking to close things out on a high note with another overall race victory following their triumph at COTA in September. That's the best they can shoot for as the sister Jota car, the No. 12, has already wrapped up the World Cup title against the other customer-backed programs on the Hypercar grid.
