Mustang GT3 Set For Debut At 2025 N24, DTM Series Through Haupt Racing Team

The Ford Mustang GT3 is ready for its second year of racing around the world, and the Freedom Pony is set to debut for yet another historic racing series in 2025.

German-based outfit Haupt Racing Team announced Friday that they are switching manufactures from Mercedes-AMG to Ford and they will delopy a Mustang GT3 into two series next season - the legendary DTM circuit as well as Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe.

Above all, this means that the Mustang will make its debut at the Nurburgring next June in the N24 - marking a return of a Ford machine racing at Die Grüne Hölle. You can already hear the 5.4-litre Coyote V8 engine roaring around the turns and breaks of the Ring, much to the delight of everywho who will be lucky enough to attend the event.

HPT is leaving Mercedes after a four-year relationship, and as they transition to the Mustang they'll be taking the place of Proton Competition, who unfortunately will not be returning in the Fanatec series.

In addition to them racing throughout Europe, HPT have committed to developing their racing pyramid from the ground up as they'll also take on a junior development structure as well as planning for a future expansion into a GT4 program.

Another aspect to highlight is the fact that Ford are putting their money where their naturally aspirated engines are as the Mustang GT3 continues to grow its roots around the world. Since the project was announced Ford have been adamant about seeing their vision for the car materialize - and that is to see the machine roaring around as many tracks as possible all over the world. To make that happen there has to be support for every level of a racing team's ecosystem and so far Ford is holding up their end of the bargain in making it all happen.

Suffice to say, its exciting stuff, and we just hope everyone is ready to experience more and more top-tier American-made power all up in their face.
