AO Racing - Rexy and Spike Returning To IMSA For 2025
The guys at AO Racing are the latest team to announce their car plans for 2025, and fear not, everyone's favorite pair of prehistoric-themed race cars are returning next season.
The team announced on Wednesday that both Rexy and Spike will return to the grid in 2025 for the GTD Pro and LMP2 classes, respectively.
The No. 77 heads into the season finale at Petit Le Mans in first place in the GTD Pro standings, just 99 points above the No. 23 Heart of Racing Aston Martin. For their first year in the Pro category, AO Racing have performed above expectations with three class wins, and the three-man crew of Laurin Heinrich, Michael Christensen and Julien Andlauer will fight to bring home a Pro championship for the Big Green Dinosaur come October 12.
For Spike, the No. 99 currently sit sixth in the LMP2 standings and will need some luck to break their way if they're hoping to steal away the class championship. Most recently Spike scored a podium finish at Road America and finished P4 in the Battle on the Bricks.
More to come...
