Welcome to Motorsport Media Hub - The Golden Age for IMSA and the WEC

Hello and welcome to the beginning days of Motorsport Media Hub - your new home for all things related to the International Motor Sports Association and the World Endurance Championship.

Primarily, this blog will cover the ins and outs of IMSA and the WEC, but we'll also find time for other  racing series across the globe, and additionally, if McLaren choose to again swap their drivers late-on in a Grand Prix in another effort to submarine the relationship between Lando, Oscar and the team, we might cover that too.

IMSA and WEC are exploding in popularity right before our very eyes, and this blog will serve to highlight the news and happenings going down in both series due to the fact that there's so much overlap between the two; news that breaks in one oftentimes has a direct impact on the other (the Heart of Racing and the Valkyrie Hypercar program let's go!!!)

In a few short years the quality of racing and growth of fandom in both IMSA and the WEC has skyrocketed, highlighted by record-braking attendance crowds, and a flurry of manufactures that have poured millions of dollars into new racecars and factory-backed programs, while allowing privateer teams - those that stuck around through the lean times - to still flourish and compete at a high level and challenge for podiums and W's

The support is there, the plan is there, and things are pointing upwards when it comes to keeping the insane accessibility for fans while still maintaining the undisputed title of being the best GT and Hypercar racing leagues in the world - although everything is not perfect as we're still pissed that they removed Lime Rock off the schedule for at least another season, but that's a post for another day.

The 2024 IMSA season has been a banger so far with eight events in the books and sadly just three more remaining on the calendar. Across the four categories every championship battle is still up for grabs, with the largest lead being Winward Racing sitting 268 points above Turner in GTD, while the smallest being just a measly 27 points between everyone's favorite Polish bakery-turned-racing outfit InterEuropol and Riley Motorsports in LMP2.

In WEC it's a three-way battle royale between Porsche, Toyota and Ferrari for the Manufacturer's title in Hypercar, and although it's not nearly at the level of madness we see in Formula 1 between constructors, it's the most competition we've seen in the top flight in years - sorry, Toyota, this isn't the cakewalk anymore as the days of beating up on Alpine and a bunch of privateer teams are gone.

In LMGT3, the partnership of Manthey Racing has a solid hold on P1 and P2, with Team WRT right behind them in third and Heart of Racing sitting P4 in the standings (American boys represent).

We'll be here for the most important developments, breaking news, rumors, breaking rumors, and everything in between. We'll do our best to break it all down and deliver it with a touch of humor and a bunch of passion.

Catch you all on the track.
